Eden organic dry black turtle beans grown by Michigan family farmers we know and trust. A Mexican staple and favorite in the Americas and Caribbean. Creamy and sweet. High quality vegetable protein, rich in fiber, iron, thiamin B1, magnesium, and manganese. Dark beans are higher in antioxidant anthocyanins found in their skin. Ideal with grains, in soups, stews, salads, salsa and dips, and in making refried beans for tacos and burritos.

      According to eden foods website- the dry beans are not gluten-free. Their canned black beans are – both the plain and the seasoned varieties.

      Eden Organic makes amazing products, including beans in BPA-free cans. They’re careful with their sources and with their packaging, so I don’t mind paying a little extra for products that I trust.

      But the price still seemed like a lot to me for beans, so I went to my local food coop to see what they charged for organic beans. It was the same price per pound for loose organic red beans, and that was the only kind of organic beans they had.

      The beans themselves are good quality and cook up deliciously.
